The heartbeat behind
5th Element Studio
Nina & Sandra are a wellness practice rooted in sound healing, yoga, and nervous system restoration โ bringing movement, frequency, and breath to communities across Houston and beyond.
Two friends.
One mission.
Community is at the heart of everything we do. We came together through yoga and a shared passion for helping others feel more grounded, supported, and well in their everyday lives. What started as two friends practicing and learning side by side has grown into a space dedicated to caring for the body, mind, and nervous system through simple, effective tools.
Yoga was the foundation that brought us together, and over time we've expanded into a more holistic approach to wellness. By combining yoga, sound healing, breathwork, meditation, and tuning fork sessions, we create experiences that support both the mind, body, and breath. Each offering is designed to help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and bring you back into balance so you can move through daily life with more ease and clarity.
Through our own practice and the work we've done with our community, we've seen how powerful these tools can be when used consistently and intentionally. That's why we focus on creating welcoming, accessible spaces โ both in person and online โ where you can explore what works best for you at your own pace.

If you've ever felt overwhelmed, disconnected, or stretched beyond your capacity, know that I have walked that path too. There was a time when life asked more of me than I felt I could hold โ navigating the sacred roles of home, wife, motherhood, and a career in the medical field supporting children, all while quietly losing connection to myself.
I began to remember โ returning to my breath, my body, and the subtle language of energy. What started as a personal healing journey became a sacred calling.
Holding two certifications โ a 200 YTT from a local studio and a Yoga Alliance acknowledged 200-hour credential earned alongside Sandra in Costa Rica โ my yoga foundation runs deep. That shared journey reinforced something I already believed: that the most transformative learning happens in community and shared experiences, where growth is amplified by the people beside you. From there, my path expanded beyond the mat. I trained in Biofield Tuning under Eileen McKusick, pursued sound healing through Unwind Studio, and spent time in deep mentorship in Peru โ each layer widening my understanding of how the body holds energy, and how intentional sound and movement can gently restore it.
Today, I walk alongside others as a holistic wellness practitioner and guide, holding space for inner transformation, energetic alignment, and the gentle remembrance of who you truly are. My approach is both intuitive and grounded โ guiding you toward healing, clarity, and coherence as they naturally unfold.

I fell in love with yoga more than 33 years ago, but my practice truly transformed when I learned to slow down, listen to my body, and embrace the power of stillness. What began as a physical practice evolved into a lifelong journey of self-discovery, mindfulness, and healing. By shifting my focus from achievement to awareness, I experienced firsthand the profound benefits yoga offers for both body and mind.
In 2021, I completed my first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at a local studio and later earned my 200 RYT certification through YogaMU. Committed to deepening my understanding of yoga's many dimensions, I have continued my education through specialized training in sequencing, breathwork, and Yogi Flight School. My journey also led me to Costa Rica, where I studied Holistic Yoga Flow with renowned teachers Travis Eliot and Lauren Eckstrom, earning a second 200 RYT certification. I was honored to be selected to film with Inner Dimension for their program Yoga 60 for 60, an experience that further strengthened my commitment to sharing this practice with others.
Through yoga, meditation, breathwork, and mindful movement, I have found a steady source of peace amid life's challenges and uncertainties. These practices have taught me that true balance comes from cultivating flexibility not only in the body, but also in the mind and heart.
I believe every student is exactly where they need to be โ whether practicing advanced postures or simply reaching toward their toes for the first time. My passion is creating welcoming, accessible experiences that help people connect with their breath, quiet the noise of daily life, and rediscover their innate strength, clarity, and resilience. I guide from a place of gratitude, compassion, and the belief that transformation begins with a single mindful breath.
Today, I create guided meditations and wellness experiences designed to help people reduce stress, cultivate inner calm, improve sleep, and reconnect with themselves. Whether you're navigating a season of change, overwhelm, grief, or simply seeking more peace in your day, my goal is to help you return to a place of balance, presence, and well-being โ one breath at a time.
